CRACKED (Upon a Time)

Three chairs sit at the foot of a graveyard: Alfred's chair, Percy's chair, and the death seat. Alfred, an older man, is writing into a large black leather bound book but in the end it is Percy, an old man, who labors upon the blank page. In the game of Life the potent ramblings and hysterical bickering between these ancient companions explore memory, allusion, love, luck, fear, trust, choices to be made, time to be passed, and the desire to avoid ending before they conclude that "Everyman must go through life on his own."

The Royal Pyngwyn Collective is a theater company dedicated to the collaborative theatrical birthing process: parenting the union of expressions — visual, audible, physical, and theoretical. We have built our nest on Manhattan Island, and in order to ensure the survival of our species, have dedicated ourselves to the nurturing of each unique idea as if it were a fragile egg. Devoted to carefully providing it with warmth and safety, until it cracks, sprouts feathers, and enters the world on its own two feet to join the masses.
