He is a founding member of The Royal Pyngwyn Collective and the producer of Drowning the Sun and CRACKED (Upon a Time). Matt Alspaugh: CRACKED (Upon a Time) is Matt'’s 5th show in New York and his 3rd in the past year. He moved to New York in June of 2008 to fulfill his dream of being an actor committed to the arts. Born and raised in Waterbury, Ct, Matt knew he wanted to be an actor since one Social Studies class in 6th grade. After joking around and reading his homework assignment on Ireland with an accent, Miss McCarthy then sent him to every classroom making him '“act out'” his homework for the rest of the school. A 2007 graduate of Southern CT State University with a B.A. in Media Studies and a minor in Creative Writing, Matt always found himself back in the theatre. It'’s at S.C.S.U. where Matt first met the other members of Royal Pyngwyn. Matt has studied with Ken Schatz, Derek Lucci, and Michael Beckett of HB Studio. Credits include: Gately (PVT. Wars), Nathan Detroit (Guys and Dolls), Henry Fleming (Gathering Shells), Chamberlain (Henry VIII), Moonface (Anything Goes), Officer O'’Hara (Arsenic and Old Lace), Mickey (Cartunes) among others. Jenna Sisson recently graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BA in acting. She is now a resident of New York and a proud founding member of the Royal Pyngwyn Collective. Credits include: Pvt. Wars; Nurse (Royal Pyngwyn Collective) Anything Goes; Reno Sweeney, Edward Albee'’s The Sandbox; Grandma, A Piece of My Heart; Maryjo Kincaid, Arsenic and Old Lace; Martha Brewster, How to Succeed in Business [...]; Rosemary Pilkington, Ruffian on the Stair; Joyce, Pippin; Fastrada, Heart in the Ground; Karen, Our Town; Emily Webb, Cabaret; Sally Bowles (S.C.S.U.) Grease; Sandy Dumbrowski (Thomaston Opera House) The Fantasticks; '“The Girl'” Luisa (Orange Players). Jenna is a recipient of the A. Richard Coakley Memorial Award for Outstanding Development and Talent in Acting and has been a five-time nominee for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival'’s Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship. Jenna is currently working at the Weathervane Theatre in New Hampshire. Josiah Houston: A critically acclaimed performance poet in his youth (as seen on CBS 60 Minutes), Josiah Houston embraced his inner performer upon entering university, beginning actor training. Upon completing his honors degree in theater, and writing an award winning thesis exploring the dramatic canon of Jean Genet, Houston packed his life into a backpack and left home. His travels first brought him to Austin, Texas. Here he helped found the emerging young theater company humdrum collective and had the first production of his work staged. An eye-opening experience, Houston quickly re-embraced his neglected inner poet, spawning the creation of handfuls of plays of varying size, style, and shape. Since leaving Austin, Texas, he has traveled and lived in twenty countries, writing, playing music, and teaching drama and poetry. Recently returned from a year of volunteer work in South Africa, Josiah Houston has joined in founding the Royal Pyngwyn Collective in New York City in hopes of bringing the pages once cramped in his tightly packed backpack to light. Willis Ruis: Born in New York City but raised in a small fishing town, Willis Ruis grew to become a man practiced in the art of recreation. A full time handy man, part time bass enthusiast, and — when compelled — an actor of tempered enthusiasm and constant focus (as seen in his performance as Gleason in James McLure's Pvt. Wars - Sargent Theatre). Ruis is the fundraising event planner and head of advertisement initiatives for the Royal Pyngwyn Collective.
